I've done a piss poor job of updating this thing. Whenever I come back from a hiatus I always say, "I promise to update this thing more often!" But then I never do. Womp. So no guarantees. No promises.
I am officially in a transition. This entire summer has been nothing to me simply because I've been in such a rut. Don't you hate it when so many good things are about to happen but you have to wait a long while before these said things actually begin? That was this summer for me. It also doesn't help that the weather has been CRAPTACULAR for Los Angeles. Overcast? 70 degrees? WTF. The rest of the country is in a heat wave except us. LAME.
So here it is, August 17th, and I cannot tell you ONE awesome thing I've done this summer. :thinking... thinking... thinking...: There was my best friend's wedding in June but that was nearly overshadowed by a car accident. Annnnnd that's all I can think of. Worst.
I'm starting school this fall, which I'm STOKED about. I'm in the Masters program at Loyola Marymount University (which, conveniently, is where I work). I'm in the General Ed program which basically means I can take whatever education classes I want. Considering I don't know WHAT I want to do with my life, this is the absolute perfect program for me. If all goes to plan, I'll be finished with the program in TWO glorious years. YES.
ALSO, I'm going to Germany at the end of the year to visit an old friend. DOUBLY stoked. This will be the first time I'll be abroad and as someone who geeks out about anything history-related, this is something that needs to be done. LIKE UBER NEEDS. asdlkfjasdlkfj I'm so excited.
Lately, I've been thinking about where I want to go once I finish school. I like Los Angeles all fine but I'm getting restless and want to experience a new city. I'm definitely the type of person who can't settle. Maybe I'll go to San Francisco. Maybe Washington DC. Maybe Paris. Who knows. My future is preeeetty open right now which is terribly exciting for me. I like not knowing where I'm going to end up. Optimistic today.
In unrelated news, I ordered a new Droid Incredible and according to FedEx IT WAS DELIVERED TO MY WORK AT 9AM. I'm anxiously awaiting for the mail center to deliver it. I'll FINALLY be able to play on the internet. OMG GEEKIN.
Oh, and my parents are coming in a few weeks. The first thing my mother wants to do is go shopping. With me. To buy me things. UM YES PLEASE. I <3 being poor. Actually I don't. I take that back. I <3 that my mother takes pity on me in my poor state.
UNTIL NEXT TIME. Which hopefully will be soon-ish.
